Go to sewing supply shop, you buy knitting needles and wools they will teach you how to do, I am talking about shops in South East Asia, I am not sure other place they will teach.

I would suggest you do a search for ‘purl stitch’ and you should find hundreds of results as PDF files, photos and there are also a number of videos on youtube.

The twist stitch is a bit complex if you are new to knitting however there is a good explaination here:

There may also be videos of twist stitch on youtube – if you can’t see one, look for ones showing how to do a cable or mock cable and that should help you understand it a bit better.

    Good luck

Lion Brand yarn’s website has a good pamphlet with pictures that teaches you how to knit. It was easy to follow and I keep a copy with me at all times.

There are free videos of the purl stitch at http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/purl-stitch

You twist a knit stitch by inserting the needle into the back of the stitch (instead of the front as you would normally do) and then knitting it. The 2nd photo on this page shows how: http://www.sheeptoshawl.com/charity/archives/2007/02/entry_237.html
