Does anyone know a website for people who want to learn how to knit?

Author: I really want to know how to knit but i cant find anything that will get me started. Are would love it if someone could give me a couple of sites to get me going!

youtube has great videos
and your local library should have lots of books on knitting, and they are free to check out!

The best free site online is http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/ They are very clear, most importantly are correct (many other sites are actually quite wrong) and she does them in both methods of knitting.
The best way to learn, of course, is to take a beginner course at your local yarn store. They can check that you are doing it correctly (you often THINK you are when you aren’t) and they will cover all the basics so you won’t be confused with simple directions.
